- Indian summers are getting hotter, but have we lost the ability to adapt? GS III: Indians once knew how to live with heat. From mud homes to sandstone courtyards, people designed spaces that cooled by default. Work began at sunrise, paused during peak heat, and resumed in the evening. In cities, water-cooled courtyards, step-wells, and screens created micro climates.
- The university under attack, universities undermined GS II: Autonomy and an anti-establishment character are now anathema to regimes across the world with a narrow agenda.

- ‘Empathy for Gaza is now considered treason in Israel’ GS II: Israeli columnist Gideon Levy says Gaza’s civilians are like ‘walking dead’ facing destruction and global silence; he says that inside Israel, all empathy for Palestinians is considered treason and Israel has been acting without legal, moral limits since Oct. 7, ignoring all condemnations without international pressure; all countries, including India, can intervene to stop this brutal, barbaric war, he adds.
Note
If you are a beginner in reading, prioritise articles from the start. Do not read for more than one hour; it is perfectly fine to read only two articles per day in the initial months. Try to learn some vocabulary (3 to 5 words as discussed in the mentorship class), and then gradually increase your speed. Focus on quality over quantity; speed will naturally improve over time. For example, if you read only one/two or three articles per day for the first six months (180 days), you will cover 180 to 360/540 articles with quality and revisions. This number is sufficient to grasp the basics thoroughly. You will still have the remaining six months of the year, which will be ample time to increase your speed and cover more topics. So, be patient, avoid following the crowd, and adhere to the guidance provided in the class.
